Overview
This training examines how telemedicine can help address the treatment gap for alcohol use disorder (AUD). Participants will learn how telehealth can expand access to medications for alcohol use disorder (MAUD), particularly for patients in rural areas and communities where transportation challenges and geographic distance can limit access to care. Using real-world patient cases, the presenter discusses which individuals are best suited for telemedicine-based treatment, how virtual care can enhance patient engagement and continuity of care, and practical strategies for integrating telemedicine and MAUD into everyday clinical practice.
The target audience for this intermediate level activity includes: All types of healthcare professionals.
