Overview

This webinar explores the unique challenges of treating AUD and managing withdrawal in rural setting and presents options that providers have for overcoming these barriers. It details strategies for navigating limited resources and highlights the importance of shared decision-making with patients and recognizing high-risk scenarios. It also highlights the role of telemedicine in improving care and mitigating care-seeking barriers in rural settings. 

This course is not eligible for credit. 

The target audience for this introductory level activity includes: All types of healthcare professionals. 

The ACGME Competencies include: Patient Care and Procedural Skills, Medical Knowledge, and Systems-based Practice.

Learning Objectives

Greg Greenberg, MD, FASAM

Since finishing his family medicine residency in 2004, Greg Greenberg has worked as a family physician with medically underserved populations, in emergency medicine, as a hospitalist, and as an addiction medicine physician. As a board certified addiction medicine specialist, Dr. Greenberg is medical director of a tribal owned opioid treatment (OTP) in Ukiah, CA and is Chief Medical Officer for a group that will manage tribally owned OTPs that will be opening in San Diego, Tacoma, and Riverside County.
