Overview

This case-based discussion presented by Dr. Devora Keller discusses best practices on integrating non-medication treatments for AUD involving philosophies around reducing alcohol-related harms into various healthcare settings. It identified key strategies healthcare providers could bring to their practice to improve patient outcomes.  

This course is eligible for 1.5 NBCC Contact Hour and 1.5 NAADAC CE. 

The target audience for this intermediate level activity includes: Prescribers of all types

Learning Objectives

Upon completion, learners will be able to:

  1. Define the negative consequences and potential risks related to unhealthy alcohol use.
  2. Describe principles of practice to mitigate the risks and potential harms associated with unhealthy alcohol use.
  3. Explain 3 strategies to support individuals with unhealthy alcohol use.
  4. Explain 3 program models that can support individuals with unhealthy alcohol use.
