Overview
This 60-minute case-based discussion presented by Azul DelGrasso and Beverly Wasserman discusses culturally responsive care, stigma, and culturally affirming and responsive practices when addressing AUD in patients. This course is not eligible for credit.
The target audience for this intermediate-level activity includes: Prescribers of all types
Learning Objectives
Upon completion, learners will be able to:
- Define culture and culturally responsive care.
- Describe how AUD-related stigma and other identity-related factors contribute to health disparities and poor health outcomes for people.
- Describe two culturally affirming and responsive practices when working with individuals from racially, culturally and gender diverse backgrounds.
- Practice utilizing culturally affirming and responsive language in care delivery for clients experiencing AUD.
